TEHRAN – The spokesperson for the Iranian foreign ministry characterized the attacks by the United States and the United Kingdom on regions of Sana'a and Saada in Yemen as serious breaches of the United Nations Charter and international law, particularly regarding the prohibition of force and the respect for national sovereignty.

Esmail Baqaei viewed the ongoing airstrikes by the U.S. and UK in Yemen, alongside their military and political backing of the Israeli regime in its actions against the Palestinian and Lebanese populations, as clear indicators of their complicity in the crimes committed by the Zionist regime and strongly denounced these actions.

Baqaei emphasized that the aggressive and reckless conduct of the United States and the United Kingdom towards the oppressed and resilient people of Yemen represents a perilous involvement in escalating insecurity and tension in the West Asian region, as well as in the Israeli regime's ongoing campaign of genocide and warfare.

In recognition of the steadfast support of the Yemeni people for the oppressed populations of Palestine and Lebanon, Baqaei asserted that the actions of the U.S. and UK in attacking Yemen and damaging its critical infrastructure will not undermine the solidarity and unity of the Yemeni people with the Resistance movements in Palestine and Lebanon.

Yemenis have openly expressed their solidarity with Palestine in its fight against Israeli occupation, particularly following the onset of a severe conflict in Gaza on October 7. This escalation was triggered by a surprise counterattack from Palestinian Resistance groups, referred to as Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, against the occupying forces.

The Yemeni Armed Forces have declared their intention to continue their operations until the relentless Israeli ground and air assaults in Gaza cease, which have resulted in the deaths of at least 42,000 individuals and injuries to another 67,000.

On October 15, the United States and Britain announced the formation of a military coalition aimed at targeting Yemen using B-2 bomber jets in support of the Israeli regime.
